The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority has issued a Fire Advisory effective Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. for the Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87, the Summer Villages of Bonnyville Beach and Pelican Narrows, and the Village of Glendon.

The advisory has been issued due to forecasted weather conditions and reflects fire conditions currently noted within the Lac La Biche Forest Area.

Under the current Fire Advisory:

  • Existing fire permits remain valid
  • New fire permit requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Allowed Activities

The following activities are still permitted during the advisory:

  • Safe wood campfires and backyard fire pits
  • Propane fire pits and natural gas appliances
  • Charcoal and wood-burning devices equipped with an on/off switch
  • Indoor wood fires
  • Open flame oil devices
  • Off-highway vehicle use

Residents and visitors are reminded to use caution with any open flame activity and to never leave campfires unattended.

Wildfire Prevention

The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority encourages everyone to practice safe fire habits by following the “Soak it, stir it, soak it again” method until campfire sites are cool to the touch.

Wildfires should be reported immediately by calling 310-FIRE.
